In today’s publication of an interview with Roger Waters in MOJO magazine, speculation of him touring The Wall will start/has started to spread like wildfire. With Roger saying things in the interview like “We are doing the sums for a full scale tour,” I think it is safe to say something is afoot. Your guess is as good as mine as to which musicians crew it this time. Elton John and veteran US singer/songwriter Leon Rusell are working on an album together featuring guests including Neil Young, it has been revealed. Booker T Jones, guitarist Marc Ribot and drummer Jim Keltner contribute to the album, reports Billboard. In an interview with U.K. radio station XFM Saturday, Kiss bassist Gene Simmons opined on the state of British rock, giving a shoutout to bands including the Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and Keane. But as far as the "most interesting" musicians in Britain, Simmons said he'd have to go with Liam and Noel Gallagher, who bring something entertaining to a music scene otherwise void of "stars." Simmons "loves" the Arctic Monkeys, but says of most British musicians, "I don't care what they do, who they're s---ing, where they live ... they're not interesting people. The most interesting people to me are the Gallagher brothers. The interesting thing about them is they're drug addicts and alcoholics and they fight with each other. That's really it." - spinner.com

Mick Avory, longtime drummer for seminal British rock group the Kinks has reconfirmed that they will be releasing a new album in the near future, working from archive tracks written by Ray and Dave Davies. Avory told Spinner, "Things are always bubbling under or over with the Kinks -- I'm never quite sure if we're going to do them or not. We are certainly doing another album. We've got old tracks which need to be baked. You have to go through this process to transfer them to digital, it's a bit of a process and you only get one shot at it. - spinner.com
Simon & Garfunkel are set to hit the road again - the revered folk-rock duo have laid down a series of dates which seems to be the start of a U.S. tour. Poison is on a pre-planned break this year, but frontman Bret Michaels isn't having trouble finding other folks to work with -- including Miley Cyrus and his fellow cast members on the new season of "Celebrity Apprentice."
